Dr. Stella Nyanzi is one of three scholars selected to be an African Studies Association (ASA) Presidential Fellow for 2013. Founded in 1957, the ASA is the leading North American organization that promotes the study of Africa in all academic disciplines and for contemporary practitioners. The three ASA Presidential Fellows will present their work at the African Studies Association annual meeting in Baltimore, MD, from 21st - 24th
November 2013.

Stella Nyanzi has published an article entitled 'Dismantling
Reified African Culture Through Localised Homosexualities in Uganda' in
the journal 'Culture, Health and Sexuality'. The article is based on

Stella Nyanzi has published a chapter entitled "Rhetorical Analysis of President Jammeh's Threats to behead homosexuals in The Gambia' in the edited volume entitled 'Sexual Diversity in Africa: Politics, Theory and Citizenship'. This book is edited by Sybille Nyeck and Marc Epprecht, and published by McGill Queen's University Press, Buffalo.

Prof. Mahmood Mamdani wrote the introduction to "The Sidi: Indians of African Descent", a book of photographs by Ketaki Seth.
