Nyanzi selected as an African Studies Association (ASA) Presidential Fellow for 2013

Dr. Stella Nyanzi is one of three scholars selected to be an African Studies Association (ASA) Presidential Fellow for 2013. Founded in 1957, the ASA is the leading North American organization that promotes the study of Africa in all academic disciplines and for contemporary practitioners. The three ASA Presidential Fellows will present their work at the African Studies Association annual meeting in Baltimore, MD, from 21st - 24th
November 2013.

Stella Nyanzi has published a chapter entitled "Rhetorical Analysis of President Jammeh's Threats to behead homosexuals in The Gambia' in the edited volume entitled 'Sexual Diversity in Africa: Politics, Theory and Citizenship'. This book is edited by Sybille Nyeck and Marc Epprecht, and published by McGill Queen's University Press, Buffalo.
